Sayframe Help
Practical fixes for paste behavior, permissions, local dictation, shortcuts, and transcript recovery before you contact support.
Contact supportPaste Reliability
If text does not appear in the target app, Sayframe keeps the transcript recoverable instead of pretending paste succeeded.
- Check Settings > Text Output & Paste Reliability.
- Use Insert at Cursor for automatic insertion, or Clipboard Only for manual paste.
- Grant Accessibility permission when prompted.
- Increase Paste delay to Safer or Slow apps for editors, browsers, terminals, and remote sessions.
- Leave Restore clipboard after paste enabled unless you want the transcript to remain on the clipboard.
Permissions
macOS controls microphone, Accessibility, and shortcut access. Sayframe shows recovery actions in Settings when a permission is missing.
- Microphone is required for live dictation.
- Accessibility is required for direct insertion and some global shortcut paths.
- Speech Recognition may be requested when Apple Speech is used.
- Install Sayframe in Applications before final permission setup.
Privacy and Models
Sayframe is local-first. Free dictation is designed to work without an account or cloud transcription.
- Whisper, Apple Speech, and Parakeet run on your Mac.
- Sayframe Cloud transcription stays off until you choose it and requires sign-in.
- AI cleanup can use local Ollama or a provider key you add yourself.
- Hosted AI cleanup and summaries are roadmap features, not part of the current Pro offer.
Library and Recovery
The Library keeps recent work visible after dictation, file import, or meeting processing.
- Use Library to copy, replay, export, or retry saved transcripts.
- If insertion fails, check the latest transcript before recording again.
- Use Settings > Advanced for saved Library repair and recovery backups.
